Principal

Myk Snider is a specialist in managing complex tactical projects to achieve strategic communications goals. He is a process expert on brand management and issues management, focusing on using the tools of public relations to communicate with diverse community groups such as chambers, block clubs, service organizations and other grass-roots organizations. He has managed many complex and controversial projects, and is experienced at project management in campaigns involving multiple parties with multiple roles.

Snider assisted a national strategic team at Taco Bell Corp. by developing their vision statement, developing a government and community relations strategy and training the company’s regional staff on the process. He also led the successful public relations efforts to obtain permits for waste-to-energy facilities in Robbins and Summit, a medical waste transfer facility in South Chicago and an industrial chemical transfer facility in North Chicago.

Snider directed development of a grass-roots relationship-marketing model for Harris Chicago Community Bank, transforming it from a single downtown facility to a multiple branch-based operation. Snider managed the communications efforts for the Chicago School Finance Authority, leading to the reform package that granted Mayor Richard Daley control of the Chicago Public School system and the suspension of the Finance Authority.

In addition, Snider has managed major campaigns for United HealthCare (developing fresh strategies for them to manage their Chicago HMO product), the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders (passing the Illinois FIRST program and re-positioning their image) and a statewide coalition for education funding (Chicago Urban League). Recently he was retained by the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association to produce a comprehensive guide to winning referenda.

Before Sphere, Snider was director of recycling for the City of Chicago helping to develop and oversee its innovative city-wide recycling program. This urban recycling program had a budget of $41 million and a team representing seven city departments.

He has won numerous awards for his writing and design, and served as president of the prestigious Chicago Area Public Affairs Group. Snider was the founder and first chairman of the Political Action Committee for the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce and served on the Chamber's board of directors. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Union League Club of Chicago, where he chairs the Communications committee.
