Manuel Galvan
Manuel Galvan is president of Vantage Point Marketing, a strategic consulting firm that partners with its clients to provide the services best suited for their needs.
Galvan’s more than 30 years of marketing and media expertise on three continents has proved beneficial for a wide variety of clients as diverse as the White House Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans and Whole Foods Market, where he consults on government and community relations in the Midwest.
In the health care field, his clients have included Access Community Health Network, Catholic Health Partners, Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago, Lawndale Christian Health Center, Mercer Human Resources Consulting and St. Anthony Hospital. His work for them has supported their strategic planning, community and government relations, collateral production and translations.
The Hispanic market is a major area of expertise for him. As a reporter for The Chicago Tribune, prior to founding Vantage Point, Galvan covered the city’s Latino community and the growing Hispanic potential across the nation. He was the paper’s City Hall reporter when Mayor Harold Washington brought community leaders into his administration and later wrote about Hispanics as a member of The Chicago Tribune editorial board.
When retained by Sprint to develop a national, Hispanic marketing strategy the result was the company’s growth from a neutral position to being named Corporation of the Year by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce within 18 months.
Galvan authored the inaugural 16-page section on Hispanic Americans for the World Book Encyclopedia and articles for the Hispanic Marketing 101 Yearbook. He is a frequent lecturer on the Hispanic market and a founding member, as well as past president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in Washington, DC.
